Job Title: Structural Engineer
Location: Oxfordshire (Office-Based)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Reports To: Technical Director / Head of Engineering
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our team at our Oxfordshire office. The role involves delivering structural design and engineering support across a wide range of residential and light commercial projects. You’ll work closely with clients, architects, surveyors, and our internal project management team to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective structural solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla, TEDDS, AutoCAD, Revit)
- Produce and review structural drawings, reports, and specifications for domestic and small commercial projects
- Work with architects and other design professionals to integrate structural designs into overall project plans
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing structures, verify construction quality, and provide technical input
- Prepare structural calculations for Building Control submissions in compliance with current UK standards and regulations
- Provide ongoing engineering support to project managers during construction phases
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and CDM regulations
- Attend client meetings to explain engineering concepts in clear, non-technical language
- Collaborate with in-house and external consultants to ensure design efficiency and cost control
- Maintain accurate records of design revisions, site observations, and communications
Required Qualifications & Experience
- BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2–5 years' experience in structural engineering design (UK-based experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, and UK Building Regulations
- Proficient in structural design software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS, Robot, etc.)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD essential; Revit or BIM experience is a plus
- Strong report writing and documentation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Confident working independently and within a team environment
- Chartered or working towards chartership with ICE or IStructE desirable
