Job Title: Structural Engineer

Location: Oxfordshire (Office-Based)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Reports To: Technical Director / Head of Engineering

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our team at our Oxfordshire office. The role involves delivering structural design and engineering support across a wide range of residential and light commercial projects. You’ll work closely with clients, architects, surveyors, and our internal project management team to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities


  • Undertake structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., Tekla, TEDDS, AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Produce and review structural drawings, reports, and specifications for domestic and small commercial projects
  • Work with architects and other design professionals to integrate structural designs into overall project plans
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing structures, verify construction quality, and provide technical input
  • Prepare structural calculations for Building Control submissions in compliance with current UK standards and regulations
  • Provide ongoing engineering support to project managers during construction phases
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and CDM regulations
  • Attend client meetings to explain engineering concepts in clear, non-technical language
  • Collaborate with in-house and external consultants to ensure design efficiency and cost control
  • Maintain accurate records of design revisions, site observations, and communications

Required Qualifications & Experience


  • BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2–5 years' experience in structural engineering design (UK-based experience preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, and UK Building Regulations
  • Proficient in structural design software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS, Robot, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD essential; Revit or BIM experience is a plus
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Confident working independently and within a team environment
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with ICE or IStructE desirable
